ROADS

Drive Slowly & Be Mindful of Road Conditions:
One of the major contributing factors to the washboard effect of the roads is speed! The roads are clearly posted with 25 mph speed signs. Driving at the speed limit or below will help reduce the washboard effect.  Please be mindful of muddy road conditions and do not drive on muddy roads if you don't have to.  This will help keep our roads in good condition.

Road Committee Duties:
The goal for the Road Committee is to provide safe, passable, and smooth roads for all roads that the POA is responsible to maintain.

The Road Committee has different makeup and authority than other committees. It shall consist of at least two POA Board Directors and one or more POA members that preferably are not POA Board Directors or officers. The Road Committee shall have the authority to approve expenditures (after considering input from other Directors and POA members) without obtaining full board approval within the limits stated.

The Road Committee shall prepare a priority list for the full board to review and comment on. The priority list will be based on the road conditions, input from POA members, and the number of users for each section of road. The Road Committee may authorize work that is different from the priority list based on the immediate needs.

Limits on Road Committee expenditures:
  • The Road Committee shall not authorize expenditures that exceed the yearly road budget.
  • With the approval of the full Board, portions of the reserve monies may be moved to the road budget.
  • The Road Committee will generally adhere to the monthly budget approved by the board. Since the monthly budget varies from month to month, the expenditures per month will be based on the average monthly budget. Any overruns in the monthly average budget will be made up in subsequent months.
  • The Road Committee shall have the authority to move monies between grading and materials, culverts, and snowplowing based on current and anticipated needs.
